(1) Criminal homicide in UCR includes murder and nonnegligent manslaughter.
(2) However, criminal homicide in Korean Criminal Code means only murder. The manslaughter is not included in the homicde, but subdivded; for example, there are compound provisions such as ‘Robbery and Manslaughter,’ ‘Rape and Manslaughter,’ and so on; they are classified into Robbery and Rape, respectively.
(3) Thus, in this site, the manslaughter was extracted from those provisions, reclassfied into the criminal homicide, and applied to UCR hierarchy rule, which the most serious one of offenses is counted. (see more specific explanation of the hierarchy rule from FBI)
